On September 3, 2026, the Shanxi Research Institute of Huairou Laboratory hosted a specialized academic event themed "AI-Empowered Hydrocarbon Technology (Coal Science)." The event focused on the deep integration of artificial intelligence and coal science, aiming to embed AI technology throughout the entire process of coal research and industrial operations, thereby supporting the transformation and upgrading of the coal industry and the realization of the national "Dual Carbon" goals. Attendees included representatives from the research community and industry—such as Ling Wen, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Sun Qiwen, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Coal Liquefaction, Gasification, and Efficient Low-Carbon Utilization; experts from various Chinese Academy of Sciences institutes; and executives from Shanxi Coking Coal Group. SUPCON Technology, representing the industrial intelligence sector, was invited to participate, with a delegation led by the company's Chairman and President, Cui Shan.

At the event, SUPCON and the Shanxi Research Institute of Huairou Laboratory officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. As a national-level research platform, the Shanxi Research Institute of Huairou Laboratory serves as a key hub for innovation in coal science and hydrocarbon technology. This partnership will leverage the Institute's strengths in fundamental research alongside SUPCON's practical capabilities in industrial AI engineering. By collaborating on AI-driven advancements in coal science, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and industrial application, accelerate the R&D and commercialization of intelligent coal conversion technologies, facilitate the coal industry's transition toward high-end, diversified, and low-carbon development, and provide a practical model for the industry's intelligent transformation.
